Bulkhead Question. Need quick answer please!
Just purchased a used RR Oceanic tank. It came with new bulkhead fittings. When I install them do I need to put any teflon plumbers tape on the threads? Thanks!

I don't think that will do any good. There should be a gasket that comes with it. It should go between the glass and the bulkhead on the inside. That is the only way I have seen bulkheads, unless those are something different.

you can. teflon tape is intended to reduce the friction so the threads dont bind prematurely and allow you to fully tighten a threaded connection.
but in this case it is a different kind of thread, its not meant to be a water tight thread, and its not going to be made that tight anyway. thus you dont need it, but if you want to use it, thats fine too.

if the bulkhead is threaded on the inside, in that the plumbing hooked up to it is threaded into the bulkhead itself(not the ring holding the bulkhead on, thats what I was refering to previously) then yes that should have teflon tape for sure.

Teflon tape should never be used on bulkheads for any sealing purposes. No matter which why the bulkhead is installed. Thats what the gasket is for.
