If you guys remember, a few weeks ago 2 of my 5 chromis died with raw spots on them. Now 1 of my 3 left is acting wierd. There is NO physical signs of damage. No visible parasites, yet it is moving around the aquarium aimlessly not acting at all like the other 3. Just last week all 3 were acting fine and eating normally. This one is the bigger of the 3 if that helps. My feeding habbit for my whole tank is flakes once per day at 2 intervals and 1-2 times per week I feed mixed cubes veriety pack frozen food soaked in garlic guard.
Any ideas? How long do chromis live? (I'd estimate these to be several years old. Maybe 3 years or more. I got them from ocoralman when he was getting out of the hobby.) Even with my zoo colony trouble, parameters have stayed in check. My SG is ~1.026 being read with a refractometer. Should I drop this a little? Also, on a side note my large emerald crab bit the dust. What is their life span? He was rather large and has molted 3-4 times since I've had him. I think it may have definitely been time for his natural course of life to be over. |

The chromis was still acting like he is blind. I moved him over to a 10 gal with the mantis. :P He might become food. Anyway, has anyone ever seen a fish go blind with no other symptoms? Chromis are supposed to be indestructable. Are there fish specific diseases? If I took a picture of him right now, you would swear he's the healthiest looking chromis you've ever seen though. I'm stumped.

My blue head wrasse seems to have gone blind, but there are plenty of potential reasons (1-100 being the green wolf eel blenny attacks and the subsequent fuge relocation to heal). This fish can certainly take a lickin and keep on tickin... The lion I used to have thought he was lunch for a few months after the reintroduction.

If you guys remember back, I had 2 other chromis that had lesions on their bodies. They both died after putting them in qt. Around the same time is when this one started acting blind. I do have 2 chromis left. I might have to get some more again to qualify them as a school and so hopefully the other 2 will become less shy.
The whole scenerio with the first 2 deaths and now this one blind. Oh-well... all the other fish are doing fine.
