Black Spots In Sand
I HAVE A 190 GALLON TANK WITH ABOUT 4" OF SAND. ITS BEEN CYCLING FOR ABOUT 2 MONTHS AND NOW I HAVE NOTICED BLACK SPOTS FORMING IN THE SAND, ABOUT 2" IN DIAMETER. THERE NOT ON TOP THEY ARE BELOW THE SURFACE AND EXPOSED THRU THE GLASS. ALL PARIMETERS OF THE WATER LOOK GOOD.
DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT THIS IS FROM? |

first might want to turn off the caps lock people think youre yelling im not sure but i think its from your DSB not funtioning correctly. they are pockets of toxic areas in the sand. they should go away as the bacteria and other life develops in the bed, since your bed is new. mine went away fairly quickly. im not a sed bed expert by no means though.

It is anerobic bacteria zones, do not disturb them, by doing so you will lech bad stuff into the tank and it will go down hill and be a big problem.
