Air bubbles coming out of my sand

I have air bubbles coming up out of my sand. It was cool at first because just every now and then a bubble would float up now its like a valcano in there with bubbles poping up all over. I can see in the front glass the air pockets in the sand. I have a semi deep sand bed at about 3 - 3.5 inches. is this the gas relief from the critters in my sand bed?

Gas produced from Bacteria. It's a good thing.
