MTC (Marine Technical Concepts) a bit more expensive but comes with quality parts, Eheim pump and most important medical quality guages. No need to get mad at it becasue it won`t hold a setting, been there done that. I have always said you get what you pay for.

There are a million good reactors out there. You cannot go wrong with most of them.

Key features for me:

Eheim Pump
Reverse Flow
Aspriring Venturi for the CO2

jda,

Can you give a quick lesson on an aspiring venturi and why it is nice to have?

Thanks.

absolutly reverse flow! other than that it's a tube to hold media, a pump to circulate and mix co2. some are waaay overpriced!

check out shuran they are more efficient and are the only one to reengineer calcium reactors and they did a great job in my opinion. I think it recirculates unused co2. oh yeah craftsmanship is second to none I have seen. I used to own a geo 6 x 18 and it was ok for the money.

The aspiring venturi mixes the CO2 bubble with the water in the impellar and gets it dissolved faster while it chops it up. If the bubbles have to dissolve in the chamber, it is a slower process. It is probably not that big of a deal and most of them have it anyway.

Korallin is also supposed to be the same thing as the shuran where they reuse CO2.

I have a korallin and like it. 2 years on the same bottle of CO2.
