I am an owner, also, but just got it recently. Just contact Air Water Ice. I am sure they'll tell you. But only 800-900 gallons-depending on source water--isn't a big deal. It also depends on if you have the 75 or 100 GPD membrane. Believe me, they won't try to rip you off. If you need new filters, you'll have to buy the whole pack, which is about $50. The DI should be color changing, right?

There should be a recommended replacement time for your RO prefilters... I'd be patient and wait for a response... from them.
I emailed each of these with a question... Technical support: walter@airwaterice.com Service: bryan@airwaterice.com Sales: sales@airwaterice.com And each of them responded within a few hours. The RO membrane should last for several years. There is no set time for the DI resin, it depends on your usage, and how high your Raw water TDS is.... Getting a TDS meter will tell you when the resin is about to be exhausted-- start creeping up from 0... If you have the Typhoon is should have a refillable Di canister... the refills for this cost $40 (this will be enough resin for 4 refills). http://www.airwaterice.com/product/BAGDIRESIN

I have the same unit and the di portion is/has changed to the lighter color. I have a tds meter and it still reads zero. chances are if you do need a filter, it will be the di portion not the rest. The model you have comes with the pressure gauge. If the pressure is still essentially the same as it was when new then you do not need to change the filters. The pressure gauge will tell you this type of information. (not for the di though) Typically those filtersdo not need to be changed for up to a year. The di portion howver will only clean some many PPm of water. Once you get the TDS meter, check the water coming out of your tap. I can't remember how many ppm the di will clean but someone should be able to help you.
Also I beleive there is a worksheet that comes with the unit. This is for testing the unit. You need the TDS meter to do so and I think If you have one of the typhoon, it behooves you to get a TDS meter so you can take the bull by the horns and learn your equipment. Walter really will not be able to help unless you can measure the TDS and fill out the worksheet. Regards, Pat

Always replace your prefilter and carbons every 6 months regardless of how much water you have passed through them. Remember you are removing the chlorine disinfectant from the water with the carbons so there is a slight possibility bacteria and viruses can grow inside the filter housings if they are not maintained. DI resin is entirely dependent on the quality of water being produced by the RO membrane, I get 200 gallons per refill here in Phoenix but hear of people in areas like Atlanta that get 10 times that amount due to much lower TDS raw water to begin with. A membrane can easily last 3 years in normal usage.
