Ozone hook up question
I've been running my Milwaukee ORP controller for a few days now and it seems to have leveled off at about 240mV so I started injecting ozone into my Coralife SS 125. I have the line coming out of the Enaly o3 gen (has built in air pump) into a T. From the T I have 1 line going into the skimmer and the other just hanging, but I smell o3 coming out of the line hanging. When I took the T out and went directly from the gen to the skimmer I don't think I could smell anything, but when I turned the o3 off the skimmer was not getting enough air. I even tried putting a check valve at the end of the hanging line but the skimmer still didn't get enough air with the o3 off.
What I did next was take a small bottle, filled it with carbon and stuck the hanging line in that and it seems to be taking care of the o3 smell. My question is how do the rest of you who run ozone have it set up? |

The same way you do. A luft pump is recommended since it is both strong and adjustable. You might need to put a needle valve on the outlet of the tee. It should work OK.

I don't smell the ozone anymore, but it might be because I have the short end of the line off the T going into a small container with carbon in it. I haven't pulled the line out of the carbon while the ozonizer was running to check for any o3.
I'm satisfied with how it's running now. When the o3 is off the skimmer is getting plenty of air thru the container of carbon, which wasn't the case without the T in place.
