Yea, the rock won't be cured anymore and the rock will most likly be dead and you'll end up with baserock. If you don't want to pay the expensive shipping cost then look for other online stores and compare pricees or fine a local reefer whos taking down their tank and buy their rock or ask in a reef club forums where a good lfs to get liverock would be.

How much you paying a lb??? can you find it locally?? sometimes the lfs will give you a break if you buy a bunch (100 lbs) I get it in de. for 5$ a lb for 100lbs. Saves on the shipping, sometimes makes up the differance and you rock aint totally dead.

I had Foster and Smith ship me 135lbs overnight and it averaged out to about $5 a pound. Nice cured rock as well.

check your local forums, someone has to be breaking down their tank and it could save you some big $$$$$

I also ordered 50 lbs. of LR from Foster's and Smith. I had a die-off period but the coraline has really turned on since then (1 year). I seeded the rock last summer with some mature rock. I have almost doubled my rock quantity and it looks great.
