60 gallon light fixture?

i have a 60 gallon im setting up for saltwater.
i forget the rule of lighting.
was it 3 or 4 watts per gallon?
anywho, im getting a compact light fixture from someone, he said it has like 4x65watt bulbs. so its a 260 watt fixture, is that fine for my tank?

right now, my tank currently only has live sand, a skimmer, and a cannister running. im getting my liverock tomorrow (uncured) and going to let it cycle for a bit.

eventually, i will add anenomies or coral, but not until my tank is well established and i know alot more about them.

is there a general rule about maintenence for lighting i should know?
like how often i replace the bulbs or w/e.
