I've never heard of this combo from sequence, I have 5 sequence pumps but havent heard of a combo. do you have a link to a website where you bought it or something? or are you just talking about a pump, that should be assembled already.
Chris

It looks like it comes with the following, but I have no idea how to set it up.

Pump - Priming Pot - Check Valve - Strainer - Low Water Shut Off

o.k. now I remember! I have seen this advertised, it is mainly for koi pond applications, the priming pot and strainer is to pull out leaves and hold water so it will prime when mounted above water level. Thats where to check valve comes into play also. I would sell the priming pot on ebay, mount the check valve on the discharge side of the pump and use the low water shutoff in the sump. Contact MDMinc for instructions.

way over my head... lol

I may need the pot though because the pump and set-up is outside in a garage (leaves blow in...) what do you think?

I think i set it up right thus far. It says put the check vakve in-line. So i put it on the part where the pump sucks the water through the sump(before the pump itself) I really dont have room for it anywhere else.

would this work?

Nope, you don't want the check valve there. IF you need it at all, you want it after the pump, that way if the power fails, the water won't drain back into the sump from the main tank.

Ditch the pot, unless you plan on having leaves in the tank making it down to the pump.

yeah its for a pond, strainers are for leaves blowing into a pond, I cant imagine leaves in a reef tank that would be a first
As far as the check I like them on the disharge with a union so when you take the pump out for servicing you wont have water running all over the place. But in the suction line is fine also that will do the exact same thing as far as preventing water from entering the sump during a power outage

it isn't for a reef tank It is for a holding system (8 55 gallon tank) in my garage in Hawaii. So leaves actually do blow in... lol weird!

Wouldn't the check valve do the same thing before the pump as well as after? I have a ball valve after the pump so i can turn it to do mainenance on the pump if i need to... unfortunately... the pump is below the sump, so i will have to drain the sump partway to make sure no water is gravity fed to the pump... lol No biggy though

thanks everyone
