lighting on my 125

so i recently upgraded to a 125 from my 72bf.. not by choice but i got an upgrade so i cant complain to much.. im still using my old light on it for now but i want to build a canopy for the new one and i wanted to go to 400w halides. how many should i use.. i was thinking 3 but these are the 400watters i dont want to boil the water.. i found ballasts is there a place to get the bulbs for less then 120$ each

The rule of thumb is 2' per MH, so you would need 3 units.

Depending on what you have/want, you could go with 250's. I'm running 3x150 DE's with Actinic 4.5" off the water surface on my 125 (Soft/LPS).

what k rating gives a blueish light.. i havent looked at lights for a while sorry for the dumb question
