As I see it, you have 2 choices. Keeping in mind the minimum ratio for it to look nice is 1:1 actinic to 10K.

1) Go with 4 - 50/50 (10k/460) bulbs.

2) Go with 2 - 10k bulbs and 2 - dual actinic (420/460) bulbs. This option allows you to go dawn/dusk if you have seperate power cords.

first figure out whether it takes straight pin or square pin bulbs (look at the 4 holes in the endcaps) and be sure to get that style. Then you can shop for price. Since you aren't doing corals, the wavelength distribution isn't a big deal.

Hellolights.com usually has some bulbs on 2-for-1 special. Also look at innovativelights.com. Other online shops are likely to have specials as well. Of course, a good local fish store should carry them as well, if you're in a hurry.

If you live near a reef club with a forum here on RC you may be able to find somebody locally who will give you some old bulbs. PC bulbs have a spectrum shift after about 6 months and folks with a reef will replace them then. Would still work fine for fish only.

I would also recommend Current bulbs. I've had quite a few and liked them all. Other members have had good things to say about them too.

Current/SunPaq are a brand. I think they might come in both square pin and straight pin, but I can't be sure right now.
