How much flow do I want running through my Chiller?

Just bought a JBJ 1/10 HP chiller for my 100g

manuals says min is 260gph/max is 960gph. I have a maxijet 1200 that I'm thinking about using, pumps about 295gph. Is that enough or should I go to a mag 5?

I would split it right down the middle and run at about 550 - 600 gph..... With the maxijet 1200 you may go under the low limit as the powerhead gets dirty and looses flow as it gets older..... Going under the low limit could risk freezing of the water.....

Have fun....

a mag 5 that's what I used on my chiller till I tapped off the return. not totally positive but not being toward the high end will just increase the dwell time in the chiller cooling the water more that is coming out.

I used a mag 9.5 to the chiller then to my return to the tank and connected to a Y loc line so I have chilled water running to both sides of my tank.

i plan on using a mag 5 cause this is what i have sitting around to the cjiller then through a uv then into the sump. pump will sit in my fuge return will go to my return chamber. this will allow water to mix before getting into display. what do you think?
