How to paint an aquarium
Just bought a new 36 gal aquarium and want to paint it. What color is the best and what type of paint should I use?

Some like a black background and some like blue. I used both
I used spray paint and painted blue on the top and black on the bottom, and faded the black into the blue. Make sure you paint the aquarium before you put anything in it. Don't pain the inside but the outside, and make sure there is plenty of ventillation where you do the painting. Here is an image I took before adding more LR. The picture makes the fading look more abrupt than it looks in person. Jack

Color is a personal preference.
I like black because it is easier to disguise equipment, as well as the overall look. I used Krylon Fusion to paint the back of my tank. |
