Is there any way to get the gel binder out of formula 1 and 2? i switched to Prime Reef because it broke up easier without the gel binder.

I thaw it in a small cup of tank water for a few minutes and then just "smush" it up.

I understand your concern. The binder HAS a purpose though. You should read this thread:

I'm not crazy about the formula 2. I use prime reef and a bunch of other stuff for variety, but I've tried smushing the formula 2 and it still sticks together. Last time I fed the fish the formula 2 went down in a lump and the skunk shrimp grabbed the whole cube and took it in a cave and wouldn't share. Well, the fire shrimp got some but no one else.
