Purple tang in Hypo
I have had my purple tang in a hypo salinity tank for a little over two weeks. He is at 1.008 to 1.009 measured with refractometer.
His ich looks to have cleared up but a couple days ago I noticed one of his eyes is clouded over almost looks like the start of pop eye or something. Tonight I raised the salinity to 1.012 and intend to raise the water back to normal over the next week or two. Should I treat the eye with something and if so what. Or should I let it run its course. The main tank has been fallow since 2/5/06. Is the ich dead from the tank or how long should it take? Thanks

I have heard that the life cycle of the ich parasite takes around 6-8 weeks through the various stages. I'd let it sit fallow for 8 weeks if you are trying to be sure the parasites are gone. It's a long time to wait

Is there a treatment for the cloudy eye on the purple tang?
Or should it just run its course
