Question Kalk Reactor

I am looking for a Kalk Reactor that can be fed from my RO unit. Am i missing something, or do they all need to be gravity/pump fed?

I don't know if your RO unit will provide enough water pressure to push the water in to the reactor. I use the aquamedic sp3000 dosing pump to feed my reactor and topoff the tank.

No, most if not call can be fed directly from an RO unit. The feed is not the issue, the issues are:

#1 - Run it on a float switch = short RO unit runs = membrane doesn't produce it's best water for a couple minutes = DI unit has to absorb = shorter DI life.

........or..........

#2 - Run it with a latching system (two floats) where the lower float starts & the upper stops = larger amounts of water are added = too much kalk at one time = PH spike.

FWIW - you have to have the shut off prior to the Kalk reactor. I'm not aware of one that can hold the pressure of a household water line.

Sure it will - the water pressure in your house will push water to the upper floor, right? Same= same (which is why your RO unit can be a LONG way from the tank).

Just an FYI

Thanks ErikS

I know my RO dribbles out but it does push a long ways.

Yep - it's the old "pressure VS volume". Little volume but good pressure.

Of course I only know this because I ran it across the basement to find it worked thinking "I'll be dipped in.........." only then did I remember the pressure
