Painting the back of your tank

Hi all. I am in the process of finishing my 180 gallon in wall construction and I want to paint the back and sides of the tank black. What paint did you use to paint yours and do you have any tips to help a novice at this? Thanks for your help,

John

I used the dark blue krylon fusion spray paint http://www.krylon.com/main/color_pro...n®%20Fusion

Dries quick but took 2 cans to cover my 75 back only. Only tip I can give ya is wear a mask, im still sneezing out blue boogers from the weekend

I've used Krylon Fusion paint, it took two can's to cover the back pane of my 90gal. I colored it black..but now I'm kinda regretting it because floaties in the water tend to stand with the black background.

i used the Krylon"hammered" spray paint before, looked really good from inside the tank. the glass acted like a really thick clear coat!.

in the end it wont matter though, in six months it will be covered in coraline anyway

Same paint I used, but I used a brush and slopped it on. Works great but you need to get the glass really clean first.

I rolled a gloss black oil-based paint on my corner tank. There are pics in my gallery of the process.

Used paint that I had in the basement that I painted a room with.
Been holding up 5 years now.

In my opinion, anything goes.

I used an oil based primer and lowes put blue tint in it and it looks great and covers well and does not come off. Just good luck getting it off your hands if you use it.
