Tempered glass ?

I have a 55 that I am going to drill. After I cleaned it up a little I noticed ther was a sticker On bottom that said tempered glass do not drill. Is it still safe or should I not do it?

The bottom should be the only part that's tempered. From my understanding, tempered glass can be drilled but it takes an expert. There are quite a few links here on RC where you can find more information on this.

From my understanding, and I am almost postitive that any Tempered glass with SHATTER/EXPLODE when drilled.

I bought a used tank and brought it to a store where they drill glass. Got it up on the counter and they showed me where it said Tempered, they said they won't touch it because when the drill it will shatter.

I think your whole tank might be tempered glass. My was the same way, on the bottom of the tank is where it said it. They said that the all sides of the glass were the same.

I wouldn't even think about drilling it. My thats just my opinion.

Thanks I read it closely and it said this bottom peice is tempered, So what are my options if I dont drill it in the bottom. In back and just put 90s right out the back. My only thing about that is it is against a wall and when you looka t it from the side I dont want people to see plumbing in back. How could I cover it up.

You could drill the sides if your are POSITIVE its not tempered. I am not sure how to cover it up though.
