over flow pipe

If i have a 1.5 inch bulkhead for my drain and Im getting about 1800gph out of my return. How much large does my stand pipe and durso have to be than my bh? I tried just using straight 1.5" stand pipe and durso but it cant keep up with the pump that way. Should I go with 2" pipe and durso? The 1.5" pipe can keep up with nothing on the top of it. Any suggestions?

im no expert but maybe making the air hole on the durso a little bigger might allow more to flow

http://reefcentral.com/calc/drain.php

This should help you calculate the size of the drain.
