In apopka there is a store called The Aquarium. There on 441. ITs right near where 441 and 436 meet. I havent been to this store yet but if its closer to you there is a store called Ernies Seven Seas Aquariums. the # is 407-426-9675. There off L B Mcleod. If Kissimmee isnt to far there is a few stores out there that arent that bad. Let me know.

Try calling home depot or a garden shop and see if they have any southdown brand sand.

yea home depot sells that stuff. I have never been to either Seven Seas or the Ocean Blue place. I will go there this weekend. Are they open on Sundays. My problem is I live in Ocoee. So Aloma is a little bit of a drive.
I know the place in Apopka is a little bit of a dump, its a 1 man team but the guy is really kewl, hes been helping me since day 1. He is in the middle of remodling right now so it should be nice in there soon. |

you wont find southdown here in florida.
your best bet is to buy bags and do the fizz test. Put some in a cup and add vinegar to see if it fizzes. If it does, its good. If not, its silica based. You may also want to check landscapping places that sell sand and rocks.

Ok I went to Ocean blue this afternoon. Oh man that place is really really nice. I couldnt believe the amount of coral they had there. 6 long tanks with nothing but coral. Amazing. Thanks a lot for telling me about that place, its worth the drive for me.
