Opinion on hellolights PC 03 actinic?
They make some pretty big claims on how great their Actinic is, does anyone have any experience? I saw a 20 nano that had 2x65 PC fixture with one 50/50 and one 03 actinic, both Coralife. Their tank looked great and got me thinking about different lighting combinations for my 20 long. I currently have a 10K and "Blue" actinic and want more of a purple'ish color. I am only planning on keeping softies with minimal LPS. Thanks for any help.

I have 260watt PC from hellolights...I like their 03's. My tank has a very nice deep rich blue when just the 03's are on and when you kick on the 1000k it has a crisp blue/white look that is awesome. My tank never looked better.

Good to hear some feedback. I'll order up an 03 actinic and 50/50. Thanks for your time.

Just to add, for my 75 gal, I have 6 50/50 55 watt PCs from them, the 03 actinic ones. Love them.

More feedback the better! I just got off the phone with them and will have 'em in a few days. I'm hoping the 50/50 won't be too much, in terms of actinic, but I can always utilize my current 10K if it is. Thanks again!

I agree that the ratio of 3:1 of actinic to 10k is a great look. But if you are actually going to be loosing the amount of 10k you had originally I would not do it. (It sounds like you're going to be cutting the wattage of 10k in half). Your corals would do better if you kept the amount of 10k you have now and just added more actinic instead of replacing some of the 10k with actinic.

I would agree with you but I've only had this tank up and running for a few weeks (fully cured rock w/no cycle). The only stuff in there are some zoo's, xenia, and a handfull of mushrooms. I'm sure they can adjust pretty quickly.

It's not that they can't adjust, it's that you'll get better growth with that amount of 10k than you would with your new setup.
