Micro-bubbles from chiller - help
Good grief! Just hooked up a new chiller (an Arctica 1/10 HP) and my reef is now Micro-bubble City. My corals are stressed - producing lots of mucous. The intake comes directly from the aquarium... goes into a Eheim 1260 pump... thru the chiller, and then returns to the aquarium. My sump is too small to handle the volume. Will the bubbles eventually stop? I had a similar problem when I first attached a hang-on protein skimmer. After about 2 -3 weeks, the bubbles stopped. I hope this will be the case with the chiller.
Anyone have a similar experience? TIA... Larry

Good grief! I solved the problem. It was of my own making! One of the intake connections (suction side of the loop) must of had a minute air leak. I "rimmed" all of the intake connections with silicon and - like magic - the micro-bubbles stopped!
