Fowlr

I'm taking my velvet damsel out of my tank and also the yellow tang 'cause they eat my polyps......
What do I need for lighting for the LR ?, I'm good with a basic FW hood right ?

yea should be. You won't get too much growth on it though. But it will still be "live"

Actually you don't need any light for LR, but yes, a regular hood light is fine for a FOWLR tank.
Are you sure your tang and damsel are eating your polyps? That seems very odd, especially the tang. You mighthave some hitchhiker eating stuff in your tank.

15 gallon, also going to have a fuval 404 running. I have a retro 28 watt light - I may throw 4 or 5 mushrooms in there with the LR.
I also have a "skilter", weak but I think I'm going without a sand bed and just do water changes.

for a 15g, i'd run a Aqua Clear 500 converted into a mini-fuge. If you search AC500 fuge, you might find some info on it. If not try searching on nano-reef.com. lots of people use that fuge for smaller systems. I actually still run it on my 40 along with a superskimmer 125. I have chaeto that grows crazy in there!!

Nice set ups but as for a FOWLR .... I guess I'll just add a good air pump to my skilter and do water changes and run either a Fuval 304 or 404. I guess a 304 will suffice for a 15 gal FOWLR.

They are monsters -It's thick and like 3.5 inches long, nothing like when I first bought it 4 years ago. I'll see how the skilter does
