smelly xenia...

anybody else notice the white pulsing xenia has a strong odor?

So does my pink xenia. I'm pretty sure any kind of xenia will.

I had to thin my xenia out and I threw what I didn't want into the kitchen garbage. By the next morning it smelled like dead fish rotting on the shore at low tide. When I thin out now it goes directly outside in a sealed plastic bag in the garbage can.

Why don't you frag your xenia and trade them to the LFS for corals or food.

I brought in a couple of quarts of xenia from a fellow reefer and it was late and I forgot to rinse out the pail....the next day my ENTIRE house smelled like ticked off xenia. It was horrible
