Quick lighting question?

What is the difference between HQI and halogen or are they the same?

Here is my thought. Could I just buy a couple of these, and replace the bulbs in them, or ever us the bulbs it comes with?
Light

There is a big difference beween halogen and metal halide, MH. Although halogen use similar gasses they do not have the same spectal output as a true MH because of the rare earth metals used in the filaments of the MH. HQI, High Quartz Iodide are just the double ended form of MH lights

See The Lighting Thread for the entire story.

I am still reading that darn thread!! LOL.. I was really just hoping to use the ballast, and reflector out of that light. Heck IMO the reflector is worth $10
