Heater failure

Anyone ever have a heater fail. the heater in my refugium cracked/came apart. made a bad smell and some hissing and popping. Did not trip any breakers though. Think I am looking at bad things in the near future???? Anyone

I think things should be ok..... Maybe run some carbon and do a water change to get anything that may have been released into the water, out.

Definitely, throw the heater away.

What kind was it?

wont do any harm just make sure you get all the metal and glass out the breaker didnt trip because you didnt earth it. it would have tripped had you put your hand in the tank.

This is why I went to a metal heater. I bet you'll be okay. Good luck.
