RENA XP series filter users?!

Hey, just got a question for ya about them... I JUST ordered one the other day and am expecting it to show up on my door step tomorrow morning... I have been planning all along to run it off my new 20 gal sump under my new 72gal tank... I have just read (to my horror) from the manufacturers website that these filters are 'specifically' designed to run with at least 24 inches or so of head pressure... Thus making them useless to run directly BESIDE a sump like I was planning... This sounds a little hoaky and cheesy though... so my question is... Has anyone out there actually run one of these filters BESIDE a tank or sump?? What happened? did it work? was it loud? Am I just being paranoid? thanks! any insight here would be appreciated so I'll know to send it back right away or not. thanks again.

Well I have an xp2 and Ive used it on my 55g for so long, I have a 10ft hose on it and a good 3-4 ft of head and it really has no problem. I wouldnt worry about it, I'm interested in why you chose it though?

Less head pressures good = more flow
