Brooklynella and Hypo
OK, fish are in hypo because of Ich, but I think my bi-color pseudo has Brook. He has been showing signs of this mystery disease for 2 months now. I finally saw a picture of brook, and it looks very much like what he has. I know I need to do a Formalin dip/bath. Can I do this with the hypo? How contagious is this? Can it reproduce in hypo?
Thanks.

Chances are if you fish got Brook 2 months ago and went un-treated, it would be dead, along with all the rest of the fish in the tank about 1 month and 25 days ago.
Hypo is not a cure for Brook, b/c the disease would kill the fish too quickly. Long before you could reach hypo treatment levels. Also, Brook is not effected by Hypo or even FW Baths. So, chances are, your fish has something else. Bacterial or fungal infection?

Thanks, I wasn't sure how long a fish could survive with brook. Back to the drawing board. I've tried maracyn 2, and saw no resaults. Any other suggestions on meds to try?
This is sooo difficult.
