Is this a film, or does it have visible structure?
For the glass, most everyone ends up using a scraper from time to time. For glass, a utility knife blade works well for me. Snails should help with the live rock. What's in the tank so far?

I scrape my glass once or twice a week b/c of green algae. Don't think there's a way to get rid of it.

It's part of 'cycling'. Your tank is coming alive. However, if your water tests ready, you may be ready for a cleaning crew of snails. Consult your local fish store.
Be alert for floating hair algae to clog things, outflow teeth, etc. This can cause false water level changes in the sump and lead to overflow issues. Your LFS can sell you a floating magnetic scraper. This will be useful.

Limpets and Cerith Snails are great glass cleaners.

Hi! Got your email. I think a picture might help. From your description, you might have a macroalga problem, which is a bit different from a film.
How long has the tank been set up? If it's been up a year, I suspect you'll need more live rock or perhaps better skimming, etc. A complete description of your setup might be useful, along with feeding schedules, etc.
