Blue Tang QT for 2 weeks?

I know "nothing happens fast in this hobby" but im impatiant . I have had a blue tang in QT for 2 weeks, during this time he has been perfectly healthy, and has eaten since day one, all of the fish in the LFS where I bought him were healthy as well. Is there a huge risk if I were to put him in my display now? Or should I really wait another week or so. My display is kinda boring

wait 2 weeks if you can not worth the risk
or move the qt infront of the display
or take a pic of him and tape to the display

2 weeks is not long enough. Give it a good 4-6 weeks. You won't regret it.

Sorry!

Really it's a good thing to stick it out. Some disease does not show up until 2 weeks or more into QT.

I guess I'll wait I took enough of a risk putting my Clown, and Yellow Watchman in there without QT, but the've been in there for 4+ weeks, and no problems, so I guess I avoided disaster on that

There was a thread on here recently, started by someone who had his clowns in QT for a week, wondering if it was ok to put them in the display. Turned into a thread about unsuccesfully treating brook pretty quickly.

Keep 'em in QT!

Definetly wait 4 weeks minimum. I personally would go with 6 weeks just to be safe w/ a Blue Tang. I assume it's a Hippo?

I had to remove all of my fish because of a Hippo would got Velvet and infected all. I removed all fish for 6 weeks and everything was fine after that. HTH

My first mistake in this hobby was to not quarantine a white cheek tang... Which subsequently wiped out $600 in fish and left my tank fishless for twelve weeks.

Now I religiously quarantine everything for a minimum of six weeks.

Remember that if you do suddenly get ich or another parasite, you will then have to move all your fish to a quarantine tank and treat them. You will then have to leave your display fishless for 6-8 weeks.

An ounce of prevention.... Yeah yeah, I know
