Why do you want to raise it? There is nothing wrong with a pH of 7.9, and it is not uncommon to see that reading in a reef tank.

Before you do anything I would read http://www.advancedaquarist.com/issu...e2002/chem.htm
Just adding super buffer also raises your alk. Other ways are revise lighting on a refug, Slurry kalk additions...... Most people like their PH above your level.

I would also recommend the alkalinity article here:
What is Alkalinity? http://www.advancedaquarist.com/issu.../chemistry.htm It discusses the link between pH and alkalinity and why you might want to target certain ranges for each. Happy Reading!

I agree with smiller. Your problem could be higher than normal Co2. Especially if your Alk and Cal numbers are about right.
With the way homes are sealed up to save energy, there may not be a very high air turnover rate in your home. You may need to plumb your skimmer intake to outside air. I did that and it increased my Ph number by .2
