Help KH
Hi everyone. My tank has been cycling for about 3 weeks now. I have been measuring my parameters bi-weekly and my cycle is over. (has been over for a week+).
One thing I have noticed recently is that my alkalinity has fallen from 300 to 180. I also tested Carbonate Hardness (KH) for the first time and was worried about it as the test showed it was only 5. I am using RO/DI water from my LFS and Oceanic salt. In the past I had buffering problems, do you think it is Oceanic salt ? I am in the middle of a strong brown diatom bloom which showed up as my cycle ended. I was going to add my clean up crew today, but I am worried about my KH. Here are my parameters as of this morning: PH 7.8 NH3/Nh4 0.00 Nitrite: 0 Nirtrate: 0 Specific Gravity 1.0235 |

I'm a little confused about your question. KH is alkalinity. When you say 5 is that meg/l or dkh ?
