Heater Recommendation
I am looking for 2 heaters for my 90g AGA. They will be placed in my 40g sump so it does not matter what they look like. They just need to be reliable. I like the +/- .5 degree range of the Jager heaters? Can anyone recommend these or tell me how they work or something that is better?
Thanks! |

You will get different opinions on this, and this is mine. I have several Jagers from a few years old (green one) to most current (black one). I personally do not care for them. I do however think their older models are more reliable than the new ones as far as keeping stable temp goes. Why don't I care for them, because they don't always turn on when they should, and turn on when they shouldn't. Having said that I went and replaced all my heaters with Finnex titanium using their controller. I've been monitoring it and my temp swing between day and night is no more than 0.6 F. I think that's pretty accurate. Time will tell if I like Finnex or not, but so far I'm happy. Although the Finnex controller seems to do its job, I still want to connect a Ranco to it to be safe. Good luck with your decision.
