Linear overflow size?

Hi! I'm still in my pre-reef planning phase. Just a couple of questions.

What is the recommended linear overflow size for a corresponding surface area of a tank? I mean, if the surface area of a tank is say, 960 sq. inches (48" x 20"), what should be the minimum linear overflow size?

Thanks!

http://reefcentral.com/calc/drain.php

That calculator will help you size the overflow, etc. You need to decide how much flow you want first.
