reefsafe fish

Do fish who are not reef safe mainly go after corals with polyps - such as sand polyps, leather corals, etc.
For example would a frogspawn or mushrooms be "safe" in a tank with a puffer or angel fish or butterfly fish. It seems like anytime someone says a fish is not reefsafe they say it nips at polyps. Just curious.
THANKS

a puffer definately would... the angel fish, if its a dwarf theres a 50/50 chance it would, and the butterfly: i dunno... I think you should look at the individual species, and make sure your tank can support one!!!

if its still alive, it will hopefully be fine. If you do not see it, do not try to find it. it may be hiding. just LEAVE it alone

Current Tank Info: starting over! 125 gallon. Soon to be home to Blackfoot clowns, A. nigripes

The puffer will eat shrimp, snails etc in a reef tank, some bigger LPS corals might gain his interest to check it out. But for the most part they will leave corals alone.

The angel fish and butterfly fish can be a hit or miss, some will nip at corals, feather dusters etc. It all depends on the fish.
Angels have a high risk at nipping at corals, some take that risk and they never have problems, when others will have them picking instantly.

Does that include nipping at all corals - what about mushrooms or frogspawn, etc.?

Angels can nip at all corals, especially frogspawn, hammer etc. The shrooms mightno tne that big of a problem, it is the corals like the hammer, frogspawn that get there attention.
