T5s

Tried lighting with no response., Will T5 penetrate my 30" deep tank well enough for sps and anything that i want to keep. Houston is hot enough without the MHs above my tank.

I'd say definitely, but it would depend on using the appropriate size fixture for your tank. I have been using PCs on my small 30g for over a year and decided to go with a T5 setup because I saw some great things from T5 at my LFS and I was worried about the heat considerations. You wouldn't believe the difference in my tank and no heat problems.

I'm sold on T5....

30" deep is probably asking a bit much from a flourescent in my opinion.
I have t5s in a 24" deep tank and keep my LPS near the top.
I wouldnt even consider sps in my tank.
