Where to buy a LARGE water holding container for RO water

I am looking to buy a large, tall, water holding container. I need it to hold about 200-300gls so that I can just get fresh clean water when ever I need it. I saw one it was about 7ft tall with about 3fl wide with foucet type thing at the bottom to get the water out. I forgot where I saw it. Anyone know where to get one?

A lot of folks use the Brute containers from Rubbermaid. Available from Home Depot.

Tractor Supply sometimes has large storage containers (and the plumbing that goes with it -- bulkheads, valves). There are several that appear to be near you:

I also was considering ordering from here (35 gallon tank) until I picked one up locally from a reefer who was getting out of the hobby. They sell lots of different sizes, but I imagine the shipping would kill you for ones that hold 2-300 gallons. The vertical storage tanks are listed here:

www.usplastic.com has all kinds of plastic containers. Pretty much any size you could imagine. Not sure how much hipping would be, however.

Can you put a few trash cans in a row? 44 gallon Rubbermaid Brute cans are awesome for holding water.

Along this thread line,,, how long can RO/DI water be stored if its indoors and in a covered plastic container?? Also does it need to be aerated with airstones or anything along this line???

No, but it wouldn't hurt. If you had some way to get an air hose in the water or a cheap powerhead in there but no you don't have two. Just don't leave it there a month with out doing anything with it but then again you probably could.

So you are pretty confident it would keep at least a month??? I was thinking that also especially if I kept it dark and covered. This way there would be an algal issues.

Keep the water covered and in a cool spot if at all possible. Most threads I've seen learn toward keeping a power head running in the water.

In RO/DI water? I'm not sure I would put any airline or powerhead in it. RO/DI water is very very active and will pickup/leech stuff from the air if it can. I agree that you should keep the Salt water mixing to keep it fresh, but I'm not so sure I would do that with RO/DI water. I know I don't and I don't have any issues.

I use a float valve so my RO/DI water stays full and I pump over 30 gals of water to another container to mix Salt about every 6 weeks . I fill 5 one gallon containrs with RO/DI water and make Limewater every week to drip into the tank as top-ff ... but other than that it just sits there for a month and a half unitl I need to make more salt water. I do always test the RO/DI water for TDS before I make any Salt, and test the salt after it is made and have never seen any issues.

I have two Brute trashcans, 44 gals if i remember correctly... one for salt one for RO/DI. I keep them with the lids on and in the dark. The Salt has a heater in it but the RO/DI does not .. the enviornment around the containers is normally between 70-80 degrees.

YMMV.
