Closed loop pump selection
On my 30G cube I am drilling a closed loop with 3/4" bulkheads that will be running through a SCWD.
for the pump I need help... quiet one 3000 or a Panworld 50PX? I really want to know which is quieter? This will be mounted outside of my stand on the back probably and I need the quietest pump that will pump between 600-900gph very quietly... thanks for the input and opinions ![]()

Awhile back I tried the Quiet One pumps and never again. PanWorld makes awesome pumps and for the amount of flow they produce they are very quiet and transfer almost no heat to the tank.

Oh, you could also look into the Eheim pumps. They're a bit more expensive but extremely quiet and cool running.

I had thought about the Ehiem but price was a little high... now that my turnover has increased and accounting for SCWD flow loss I think I will go with the Ehiem over the Panworld maybe now...
Still want to hear anyones thoughts... of the 3 pumps which is the quietest? I know I have made my mistakes in this hobby in equipment as we all have ![]() Josh

poseidan pumps are very quiet, under 30 db, but add a ton of heat.
eheim pumps are very quiet and definitly better than mags iwaki 40 rlt is louder being fan cooled at 55 db iwaki 30 rlt, noticable but relatively quiet at 45 db iwaki 20 rlt is very quiet. This is my experience with these pumps quiet one pumps i have a poor quality and arent that quiet from what i hear. I dont know what the decibel rating on them is |

I'm am also looking for the same setup pump, but I want something that does not use much power. Power Bills are getting really high. I'm going to use the SCWD as well with 3/4" bulk heads on my 100G main tank, I already have a 3/4" seaswirl on the end and this is just for more flow. I'm not sure what size pump to use. I think the pump will sit in the tank so the head will be about 3 feet, I think.
Any thought's? Thanks in advance |
