Minimum fuge lighting

I currently have a home depot special 75 watt setup but it really takes up to much room & ends up to close to the water when I shut the pump off for any reason. What does everyone use instead? I saw some flourescent 28 watt or so strips on ebay. Are these enough?

I use a small power compact that is 5100 K. You can also get them at Home depot or lowes.

I dont think a normal flourescent will do the trick, it all depends on the macro algae you have. You might be stuck with a stronger setup if you have Culerpa or chaeto since they love light.
