Cleaning Magnet with Scraper

I am trying to remember where I saw a cleaning magnet with a scraper attached. I don't know if it was a DIY or a manufactured item. Any Help? Thanks Jeff

i've seen them here:
http://www.oceansmotions.com/mag.htm

as far as i know you have to glue them to either a mag float or a tunze magnet.

That just looks like one of those cheap mag-cleaners from petco, some bent acrylic, and a kent scraper... $50, thats ridiculous, you could DIY that think in an hour.

not even a Kent its a Stanley razor blade scraper. its sure to rust in SW. im sure you could make a DIY one for half that.

$50 is a bit steep for that
Depending upon how much the magnet cleaner is - type

Probably could do it yourself. Ive tried. but i can never bend the acrylic exactly right. Either way i already ordered one. I figured a regular magnet cleaner costs about $30. I have had about 3 of them over the years but they are all crap. I dont mind spending another $25 to try it. I have a 175g tank and i can never clean the whole thing myself without 2 hours and a headache.

Could be... Great link anyway...

Regardless i think everyone needs something like this. Make it yourself if you can or buy it if you can. Any regular magnet cleaner without some type of razor blade does nothing for coraline algae. And nothing is worse then a dirty tank when guests come over.

Just a few weeks ago i got one of those kent scarpers with a metal blade for about $20. It works better then a regular magnet cleaner but still is a pain to use and not long enough. I also try not to stick my arms in the tank as much as i can.

When it comes to rust. Dont they have stainless steel blades in stores? If not i can just remove the mag when i'm not using it.

If your suggesting me selling them. Your wrong. Just trying to be helpful.

the blades are cheap, i bought 100 for 5 bucks at HD

Just throw them out after one use, no sense in scratching my glass with burrs on the blades
