RO/ DI water pH issue
I just setup my 1st RO/ DI unit and the water has a low pH (7ish). Is it ok to use this water directly to refill evaporated water or do I need to add buffer before adding to tank so the RO/ DI water more closely matches tank pH, which is usually 8.3. I plan on adding 2-3 gallons at a time for my 55 gal tank.

you dont need to buffer it. depending on the O2/CO2 content of RO/DI water it should be at a PH of 7+-. when water evaporates from the tank all the minerals stay in the tank so there's no need to adjust the top off water.

testing RO/DI water's PH is pointless. there isnt enough ions to measure PH. once you put the water in the tank it instantly becomes the same PH as your tank. no need to do anything or worry.
