SW tanks and laminate floors, bad idea??
I'm thinking about setting up my 100g hex in the family room, but that room is covered by laminate. Is it a bad idea or can I take a few precautions that will keep my floor looking new?

I have my tank on laminate flooring and I just put a scrap piece of carpet under it. Make sure you leave enough room behind the tank and the wall so you can clean the floor behind it, mine gets a lot of salt on it and hard to get at. Also lots of water marks from bringing buckets etc from the kitchen.

My 180g is on my laminate. I put carpet under the plywood that is under the tank. Water spills clean up easy too. (I've never had a big spill though, just drips n' drops)

my tank is in my room with real hardwood floor which is more sensitive to water, but so hard the small messes have done nothing to the floor, however i would worry if say a tank cracked! :-(
