T5 28w bulbs.

Besides Coralife and Current-USA who else markets standard output T5 bulbs?

There are plenty of manufacturers who manufactures T5 bulbs. GE (Starcoat), Sylvania, Philips (Pentron), and Osram just to name a few. Each manufacturer will carry different Kelvin of lamps so you should definately check the bulb before you buy them. I believe they retail for about $8 each. The highest kelvin I've seen so far are 6500K in a standard T5 bulb. The only reason why I would use a standard T5 lamp is in a FOWLR tank.

Thanks. I was looking for something in a higher kelvin range but I don't like the look of the 10Ks that the two aforementioned companies market. They are for fish display tanks.

I would personally go with 65K for a fish only tank. I actually work for a company that manufactuers T5 lamps, however they do not have the HO's in stock. The highest Kelvin we offer is 64K which are being used at the petco display tanks.

nope.
this is Reef Central. stong emphasis on the REEF

all sarcasm aside, by not going HO and proper reflector, you are not harnessing all the power of the t5 bulb size. Even on a FO tank, I bet one t5ho bulb withja good reflector will be brighter than 3 non ho t5 tubes with no proper parabolic reflector.

plus, the only places I see that have non HO t5, are LFS's

for a FO tank, i would steer clear of anything less than 10k- 11k bulbs. a 6500k bulb on a FO will wind up an algae and fish tank in no time
