Skimmer options for NC12
So as I understand the fission skimmer is a POS was is pretty much the only commercial option.
Does anyone have any detailed instructions on DIY designs that work well and fit into the back chambers? |

Im just setting up my 24g nano and I ordered the new Tunze nano skimmer. Expensive, but then so is everything Tunze.
Im using the lessons learned from my 80g: stick with the best, you hopefully then only have to buy something once! http://tunze.com/149.html?&L=1&C=US&user_tunzeprod_pi1[predid]=-infoxunter050

I've heard the same thing about the fission skimmer, but apparently there are many on here that swear if you just tweak the hose fitting and some other stuff it works like a charm... for 27 bucks it really cant hurt to try. I know that there is a member, I think his name is petermai that has had great success and could tell you how to make it work for you.

I got the fission nano skimmer and it is a POS. I plan on removing the hood by switching to a JBJ Viper lamp. Once I get rid of the stock JBJ hood, then I can add a hang on skimmer that actualy works.

Yeah the Tunze is in tank/sump. Unfortunately, as it seems with every Tunze product...demand outstrips supply.
Im on backorder till the middle of april. Will post results once I actually get one!
