Teflon tape?

Hi people,

Is it cool to use teflon tape for plumbing? A friend of mine said that you shouldn't but I have read of people who do use it.

I dunno what to think now. I like teflon tape because it works well for threaded fittings.

Thanks
Waxx

Teflon tape is fine to use on threaded fittings. I probably used 4 or 5 rolls on my tanks plumbing.

do not use too much as you can cause female fittng to "open" and create a hairline crack thus breaking with high pressure or slow leak on low pressures, even when using schedule 80

i use it too, it works great for making a leaking fitting well not to leak, just wrap a thin layer around the screwed in fitting and your leaks will be sealed

now taking it off is a different story....lol
