The tank is 8x2x2 full blown reef , only occupants are a pair of mandarins, pair of tomato clowns, and one potters angel currently.

potter angels are very hard to keep, let alone putting it in the same tank with a flame and have them fight. If you really want to do it then I would put the potter angel in the tank first and let him acclimate b4 adding a flame sevral months latter

I know its a gamble, just kind of wondering if anybody has tried it. I have the Flame in a qt right next to the display will observe for next few weeks to see how they react to each other. I have another tank to put it in if things go sour, just think they would make interesting viewing together.

The most likely way you could get away with it is if you add them at the same time but with the potters already in there the poor flame would be toast

I have had the potters for close to a year, no worries there, but yes they are for mature tanks. I like your line of thinking.

Potters Angel
I have to disagree about Potters being hard to keep. I had heard stories to that effect , but I added one to my tank that wasnt much bigger than a quarter about 6 months ago and now he's about 3 inches long and fat as a pig. He eats anything I drop in the tank plus gets along with all his tankmates and hasnt bothered any of my corals.

hard is a relative term, they wont do well if tank is not stable as with most angels. Mine is also a pig about 4 inches long and at least 3/4 inch wide, and doesnt even look at the corals. Most of the books I have read say not to put 2 dwarf angels in the same tank because they might fight. I am just wondering how firm the "might".

I've just recently joined up my 2 tanks into 1 big one (175g). I have a cherub angel and a juvenile potters angel. They were added into the big tank at the same time and while there was the expected fights the first few days, now they have established territories and get along reasonably well
