xenia propagation
is it possible to glue a stalk from one of my xenia to a rock without any side effects...will it still grow or will the glue hinder the growth.

let it sit on the sand bed for a little while, toget a sort of base, then try gluing, less chemical burn, or just set it o na rock, and rubber band it, im not sura about glue too much

I also use the rubberband method and find it better than gluing as sometimes the stalks fall off again.
The stalks do shrivel up for a time as they are not happy being fragged but they do get over it. I cut the rubberband after about three days and I have always found the stalk attached enough to then leave it alone |

I don't usually frag my Xenia....more like harvest it & throw it away
But, if you simply put a rock/rubble up against exisiting Xenia, it should grow onto the rock, then simply seperate them I use the same method for zoa's |

At a LFS, I was being cheap and told them I only wanted 1 stalk if they would frag it. The guy but a small piece of rubble that pushed one stalk over and it grew onto that rubble and became mine in a short time.
Cool! and I hope I'll feel like harvesting and throwing it away in the future.

my LFS gives me credit for my xenia. Its not enough to retire off but it helps. $5 to $10 depending on how nice it is.
