Ozone?? Does it cause cracking?
Hello everyone,
I heard that ozone causes cracking on Acrylic. Is this true or is someone just pulling this out of a hat? I want to use ozone, but want to make sure that it is not going to crack my tank. Brandon |

Do a search for Ozone, It will make certain plastics brittle. If you inject it into your skimmer & use the correct dosage, it (the ozone) should never make it back into your tank from what I have read.

in general acrylic is ozone safe. It's the tubing and such that ozone degrades.

If you put enough ozone in your tank to cause it to craze/crack, don't worry too much, you've already killed every living thing in the tank anyway.
I've used ozone into my skimmer 24/7 for 2 years now. And I have an acrylic tank too.
