Question RDSB or Fuge or both?

hey guys, i'm contemplating on adding RDSB in the 5 gallon bucket to my setup to reduce nitrates. i dont know why but i somehow don't have much luck with running a fuge.

my fuge is in my sump. i run 50/50 pc light on it 24/7 and the calupera has not really grew since i put it in few months back. (i heard some folks have to trim theirs every week i never did) i also bought some chaeto and it died on me twice... in addition to that there seem to be a little bit on red slime algee in few places in the fuge.

all params great but nitrates are around 20-30.

any suggestions are appreciated.

Use a 6500k bulb instead of the 50/50 or buy a cheap 150w flood light @ home depot. Calurpa will grow much faster under more intense lighting toward the red end of the spectrum.
